The season's first real bout of wintery
weather roared into portions
of southern and eastern Ontario last
night. A disturbance which
Rapidly intensified over the U.S.
northeast..Commonly known as a
Nor'Easter..Produced the first significant
snow event along with
strong winds and fairly widespread power
outages. Power outages were
caused by snow-laden trees and limbs
brought down by strong winds.
Meanwhile farther west..Cold northwest
winds drove flurries and
Local snow squalls inland from Lake Huron
and Georgian Bay.
Varying amounts of snow fell with in
excess of 10 cm in some areas
along with some power outages due to
strong winds. There was also
some thunder and lightning accompanying
the snow near London.
