April 9th - Frost/Freeze for Southern Ontario Friday Don't be fooled by the recent warm weather as a cold front has ushered in much colder air to the regions for Friday. A freeze is expected across all of Southern Ontario Friday night so don't be planting anything just yet. Traditionally, May 24th is the final date for any frost for the Golden Horseshoe region. |

April 4th 2010 - Warmth Won't Last April got off to a grand start with temperatures into the mid 20's across the Golden Horseshoe, but beware... don't start your garden yet. Temps can still dip below freezing well into May. Normal High temps are only +8 around the region. |

April 2nd 2010 - Way Above Seasonal The jet stream has pushed far to the north and along with a HIGH pressure area along the eastern seaboard, a warm southerly flow has moved into Southern Ontario. Record temps are expected to be broken over the Easter Weekend as high's reach the upper 20's for many areas. |

April 2nd 2010 - Worst Flooding in Years After the worst flooding for many people in their lifetime in New England, flood waters are beginning to receed. Providence, Rhode Island received upwards of 16inches of rain during the month of March, more than any other March since record keeping began over 100 years ago. Residents now begin the struggle of cleaning up the mess and rebuilding over the days and months ahead. |

Wednesday March 31 2010 High pressure will help to pump warm air from the South into Southern Ontario starting Wednesday, but the real warmth will arrive Thursday as temperatures soar into the 20's. 25 degrees is expected for Friday and likely again on Saturday. Humidity will also creep into the picture towards the end of the week giving a bit of a humidex to the region. |

Saturday March 27th 2010 Sunshine will give way to some rain moving into the region for Sunday as an approaching low pressure system passes by to the south. Rain will be fairly steady for Sunday and may even be mixed in with some wet snow in the overnight period. Warmer weather is on the way however with mid to high teens expected by April 1st. |

The cold will be short lived as milder air moves back in for Saturday. |

An arctic front will dive southwards on Sunday, fitting for the first day of spring, and that will drop temperartures to near the freezing mark with snowflurries likely. |

Wednesday March 17 What and absolutely gorgeous day Tuesday was with sunshine and temps into the mid teens. Well today will be a carbon copy, but will likely be a touch warmer. Locales close to the lakeshores however will only hover into the upper single digits due to an onshore flow acorss the still very cold lake. Mild weather will continue into the weekend, however clouds will also increase |

Thursday March 18th 2010 Another gorgeous day across the Golden Horseshoe and for Southern Ontario for that matter. Temps will rise once again to WELL above seasonal norms and that trend will continue into tomorrow. Looks like Winter will go out on a warm note. Spring arrives Saturday afternoon. |

Tue March 16th 2010 Temperatures will be on the rise this week with mid teens expected by Wednesday as a surge of warm air from the southwest invades the area, but who's complaining about the invasion. Sunshine will rule across Southern Ontario Tuesday through Thursday. |
The recent rain storm that Southern Ontario experience on the weekend dumped record rainfall for the Hamilton region of 66.8mm in 2 days. Regions of the Northeast States received 100 -200mm of rain with near Hurricane force winds. Serious flooding occurred with several reports of damage. |

Sunday March 14th 2010 A strong Colorado Low combining with a strong low pressure system moving up the Eastern Seaboard has brought copious amounts of rain to Southern Ontario. Winds have also been an issue gusting to 80km/h at times. Rain will continue today as the low slowly moves away from the area. There will be some mixing of wet snow over higher terrain near the Hamilton region as well |

2010 Daylight Saving Time resumes this weekend as we SPRING AHEAD. This will give us an extra hour of daylight in the evening. The sun will set close to 7:30pm this sunday, however it will rise one hour later in the morning. |

2010 The winter of 09/10 was very dry for Southern Ontario, but also warmer than normal. Most of the cold was situated to the south of the region in the central Atlantic States, coinciding with record snowfalls as well. The further north you went, the warmer it was relative to averages. Only a small portion of the country in Southern Alberta and Saskatchewan experienced temperatures below normal this winter. Northern Canada saw temps close to 12F or 8C above normal |
